03 - Beat butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
04 - Mix in egg, vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice until well combined.
05 - Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing just until incorporated.
06 - Combine 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp orange zest in a small bowl.
07 - Scoop tablespoonfuls of dough, roll into balls, and coat each in orange sugar mixture.
08 - Place balls 2 inches apart on prepared sheets. Press gently to flatten slightly.
09 - Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are just golden. Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to rack.
